Part-time Custodian

We are looking for a responsible **part-time custodian **to maintain and protect our facilities. It is important for a custodian to be careful and thorough in working, cleaning and tidying the premises, as well as preventing vandalism.

**Responsibilities**
- Ensure space is set up accordingly for space use groups (i.e. moving furniture)
- Ensure spaces are prepared for the next day by taking out trash, tidying furniture and dusting surfaces
- Sweep and mop floors and vacuum carpets as instructed
- Wash and sanitize toilets and sinks and restock disposables (e.g. soap)
- Wipe mirrors and windows
- Report any damage to building
- Secure facilities after operating hours by locking doors, closing windows and setting up the alarm

**Requirements and skills**
- Proven experience as custodian, janitor or in a similar role
- Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances
- Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components
- Attention to detail, reliability, and conscientiousness
- Good physical condition and strength
- Thursday to Sunday with a mixture of evening and daytime hours; occasional flexible hours
- High school diploma is preferred but not required
- Police check will be required before commencing position

**Other Details**
- $20/hour
- Two weeks paid vacation
- Hours vary week to week (minimum of 16, can go as high as 35 occasionally)

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 20-25 per week

**Salary**: $20.00 per hour
