**Job Summary**:
We are seeking an experienced and driven Product Manager for our Mississauga, Ontario location. Reporting to the Senior Director of Marketing, the Marketing Manager is responsible for leading strategic growth opportunities for the Canadian business. They are responsible for managing assigned brands and product categories, which includes development of product marketing strategies, launch planning, channel marketing development strategy and delivery, pricing and P&L modeling, and lifecycle management. The Marketing Manager works collaboratively with cross-functional departments (Procurement, Finance, Customer Service) to manage existing portfolios of products, as well as new product launches.
**Responsibilities**:
- Manage the GBC® & Swingline brands
- Ensure smooth execution of marketing plans and measure the impact on the marketplace. Present periodic reports that track progress in the pursuit of business objectives.
- Participate in product presentations to internal sales team as well as external customers
- Manage portfolio of existing products, including tactical actions, to ensure proper product lifecycle management
- Develop product extensions to meet the specific needs of new channels and customers
- Identify and spearhead local development of new products to address business development opportunities including ideation, conceptualization, product sourcing and pricing
- Lead regional execution of new product launches through development of packaging and other related support material
- Collaborate and communicate with US product teams regarding product plans, pricing, packaging, product life cycles and new product development
- Maintain relevant and in-depth knowledge of competitive environment and market trends, sharing knowledge with Sales to help identify customer opportunities
- Lead Business Development for identified high potential growth initiatives including Channel, Customer and Product opportunity gap analysis
- Provide tools and information [i.e. Customer Selling Story] to support the Sales team in customer meetings and planning sessions
- Develop Merchandising solutions to drive increased distribution and sales of ACCO products in new and under-developed channels
- Lead brand development activity associated with assigned business including Promotional planning, launch programing, PR and Social media campaigns and Merchandising
- Assist in the forecasting of new products and review inventory levels of items within assigned portfolio
- Set and maintain product pricing by reviewing competitive market, full ownership of product line P&L
- Achieve budget goals set by management - manage profit and margin targets (price, cost and mix)
- Track and provide regular monthly progress reporting against assigned brands and categories, including key growth initiatives
**Qualifications**:
- Post-secondary education with a Diploma or Degree in Business Administration (preferably with a focus in Marketing)
- Minimum of 2-3 years of Product and/or Channel marketing experience
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects/activities effectively within a fast paced setting
- Advanced skills in working with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Power Point)
- Ability to travel from time to time to attend sales meetings and other marketing events
- Results driven with a proven track record of success
- Excellent work ethic in managing deadlines with proactive decision making
- High analytical, strategic thinking, critical thinking, decision making and detail orientation.
- Strong communication and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple requests and deadlines effectively
- Ability to think and work independently within a team environment
- Excellent project management skills
- Passionate about product marketing
- Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation and computer skills (SAP experience is beneficial but not required)
