**Position: Material Coordinator**
**Scope of Responsibility**
The scope of responsibility includes all of the internal movements of materials beginning with receipt of raw materials and ending with final shipping to our customers, all the internal movement between work stations and shelving inventory racking in the appropriate place.
Also maintaining accurate information in of the inventory and recording the movement of the inventory in our data base and inventory systems; I.E. “picks” and “transfers”.
**Remuneration**:
This position is being offered as a full-time contract position with the opportunity to become permanent.
$22.00/ hour with opportunity to grow
Strong benefit plan including dental after probationary period
2 weeks’ vacation following probationary period.
**Responsibilities**
Outlined below are the most important core competencies and responsibilities expected to be demonstrated from the “Materials Handler” position:
- Maintaining organized and accurate inventory records of materials.
- Verifying packed shipments for accurate quantity, visual quality and proper packaging.
- Using the fork truck, staging and moving WIP materials from work station to work station and or to storage in the proper positions in WIP Rack, or prep areas for next step in processing.
- “Picking” and “Transferring” materials in JobBoss data base to accurately record the movement.
- Perform cycle counts as required.
- Track any inventory discrepancies to root cause for correction and future prevention.
- Willing to assist in all aspects of production as required.
- Coordinate with Production Manager any required updates to inventory levels.
- Receive all incoming materials, and file/approve income packing lists and documentation accordingly
- Prepare outgoing shipments including documentation and packaging.
- Verifying ingoing and outgoing shipments for accurate quantity, visual quality and proper packaging
- Track any inventory discrepancies to root cause for correction and future prevention.
- Responsible for ensuring all necessary information is available for Accounting to process customer invoicing in a timely manner.
- Additional tasks as required by the Production Manager.
**Minimum Required Qualifications**:
- Be in good physical condition
- able to stand for 90% of the shift
- Be capable of pushing up to 100 pounds. There is heavy lifting required however lifting devices are provided
- Due to the nature of grinding the environment can be noisy, hearing protection is required and provided
- Excellent eyesight, manual dexterity and physical condition required
- Willing to work any shift as required
- Experienced with the use of hand tools and grinders normally found in a metal fabrication shop,
- Strong commitment to safety in the workplace.
- Read and write in English
- Flexible work schedules and working overtime based on production demand.
- Basic math skills
- counting, simple addition and subtraction
- Capable of measuring with a measuring tape to 1/16”
- Monday to Friday availability
- Reliable, punctual and hard working
- Minimum one-year experience in an industrial setting.
- Minimum one-year experience operating a forklift with valid transferrable forklift license.
- Strong organization skills are required to be successful in the position.
