**The Opportunity**

The People and Culture Coordinator is responsible for providing day to day support in the administration, coordination, communication, and delivery of various People and Culture activities and services such as onboarding, employee records, and administration of employee benefits and pension plans and programs.
**How you will make an impact**
- Primary point of contact for all levels of employees and retirees in regard to benefits and pension enquiries.
- Coordinates, collects and reviews employee documentation and communicates with employees to ensure compliance with process, timelines, policies, collective agreements, and legislation.
- Administers the new hire, rehire, promotion, termination processes, status changes and salary increases for Staff and Contract employees by ensuring that employees’ records are updated in the Human Resources Information System accurately and timely.
- Administration of the benefit plan and pension plan in accordance with TVO policies, collective agreements and plan provisions. Researches, collects data to assess employees’ claim to benefit/pension entitlements.
- Main point of contact with external service providers including insurance carrier, Ontario Pension Board (OPB) etc. Provides data, support and respond to inquiries on an ongoing basis.
- Prepares monthly benefit premium calculations and benefit reconciliations.
- Administers employee benefits, ensures correct deductions and coordinates with service providers regarding employees’ benefit changes.
- Tracks employee key milestone and lifecycle dates, and actions accordingly.
- Tracks and provides documentation regarding probationary periods for both unionized and non-unionized employees as well as promotions for Managers. Ensures that the form is received by the established timeline and follow-up as necessary.
- Maintains filing systems ensuring required documentation is received, completed and filed accordingly in a timely manner.
- Supports the processing of invoices and payment requests.
- Assists in providing information on payroll matters, preparing remittances and payroll related documentation such as Records of Employment, T4s, T4As
- Performs administrative duties and participates in various projects and initiatives to help People and Culture and TVO achieve strategic and operational objectives.
- Continually takes initiative and helps create efficiencies through process improvements and simplifications.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
**What you will bring to TVO**
- Post-secondary degree or diploma. Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Two years’ experience in human resources and/or administration.
- Ability to coordinate, maintain, and process data changes with accuracy.
- Knowledge of human resources practices, policies, regulations, and legislation.
- Human Resources Management System (HRMS) knowledge and experience required.
- Proficient computer skills (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Experience working in a unionized environment and with benefits and pension are assets.
- Experience with third party providers and experience with UKG interface would be an asset.
