Allteck is seeking a Payroll Administrator to join our team

**Role**:
This role reports to the Payroll Manager. Working as part of a team, the Payroll Administrator performs various tasks such as data management, accurate and timely processing of payroll and keeps employee information relevant to payroll purposes up to date. Provides support to other roles within the department as required and is a member of the Finance Group.

**Responsibilities**:

- Process weekly payroll for all salaried, hourly union and non-union employees
- Verify all wage changes are made accurately and within the required processing deadlines
- Review and reconcile timesheets and hours worked for completeness and accuracy
- Enter timesheets and/or load hours into a customized corporate automated payroll system while ensuring hours are categorized and allocated to correct cost centers
- Ensure accurate tracking and processing of sick pay and vacation pay as well as periodic payouts of accumulated stat pay, and vacation pay
- Respond to employee and government agency inquiries in a timely fashion
- Compile and ensure accuracy of payroll data such as garnishments, statutory and non-statutory withholdings and deductions, as well as benefits and union remittances.
- Create payment requisitions as needed for payroll related external third-party payments
- Generate payroll related data reports, as required by Finance and Management, for internal or external purposes
- Demonstrates knowledge of payroll processing procedures
- Reconcile monthly payroll GL accounts as required by Manager
- Weekly tracking of out-of-country employee compensation
- Issuing of Records of Employment
- Assisting in year-end reconciliations and processing
- Performs additional ad-hoc duties, as required

**Education, Training & Experience**:

- Minimum 3 years payroll experience, preferably in a unionized environment
- Experience with JDE payroll system and/or Oracle an asset
- Computer literacy in MS Office is required (Advanced Excel an asset)

**Skills & Abilities**:

- Thrives in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
- Stays current with payroll regulations, standards and best practice work methods
- Demonstrated knowledge of payroll and payroll tax laws required
- Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel and Outlook required
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills required

- Possesses a high level of moral and ethical judgement in handling confidential information
- Good time management skills
- Excellent data entry skills
- Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
- Knowledge of payroll related accounting an asset
