The Volunteer Coordinator student will assist in recruiting, training, and onboarding new volunteers, ensuring they understand their roles and the organizations mission. They will assist in developing volunteer schedules, coordinating transportation and meal delivery routes while maintaining open communication with volunteers regarding their availability. Additionally, the student will assist in organizing volunteer appreciation events to recognize contributions, fostering a sense of community among volunteers. They will provide further assistance in tracking volunteer hours and gathering feedback which can be used to improve programs, contribute to outreach efforts to promote volunteer opportunities, and help develop training materials that enhance volunteers skills and engagement in various activities.

This role is a temporary 9 week contract working 30 hours per week. It will be a hybrid position with requirements to travel within client service area in Perth/Huron County.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Previous Volunteer experience or experience working in a community or team-based setting would be considered an asset.
- Post Secondary education in Volunteer Management, public relations, Nonprofit management, or other related schooling would be considered an asset.
- Demonstrated willingness to be adaptable, build relationships, and focus on client needs is required to be successful in this role.
- Demonstrated problem solving, ability to think strategically, assess situations, set priorities, and decision making skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and time management skills.
- Proficient in the use of computers and office equipment (Word, Excel, Microsoft Office).
- Valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
