Field Technician

**The Job**

This job is for a full-time position beginning as soon as possible. Education in engineering or a technical field is an asset, but not a requirement. A background in construction or related experience may also be applicable. This is NOT limited to graduates; if you have worked in an industry where you developed troubleshooting skills and have some good common sense and practicality, this may be a good fit for you.

As a Field Technician at Isherwood, you will be performing Field Review and Design Verification tasks including site visits, tieback stressing and micropile testing. You will be the site “eyes” for our engineers and project managers and will be an integral part of ensuring our projects are built as per our expectations. You will also develop relationships with contractors, consultants, and clients in our industry and work with them to solve site challenges as they arise.

When not in the field you will be partnered with our engineers and introduced to many aspects of the Geostructural Engineering world including temporary shoring design, project management and shoring monitoring. You will also take part in our learning and special events and work on various in-office projects.

**Requirements**:

- Excellent communication skills - verbal is especially important
- Listening and an openness to learning is key
- Self-motivated with exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle
- Capable in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and other standard office software

**Assets**
- Experience in Civil Engineering Technology or the equivalent
- Technical report writing experience
- Familiarity with drafting programs such as Bluebeam and AutoCAD
