**POSITION OVERVIEW**

Order Pickers support the Shipping and Receiving Department by using order slips to collect customer orders and prepare for shipment.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Use of RF scanners in all operations
- Safe operation of mobile equipment and handling of product
- Pick and compile egg orders in a timely and organized manner
- Exhibit high level of attention to detail when preparing orders
- Load and unload trailers using mobile equipment (power jack)
- Load food service trucks using mobile equipment
- Complete month end and year end inventory counts
- Ensure established bio security procedures are followed
- Assist co-workers where and when needed
- All other duties assigned by the Shipping Supervisor or Plant Manager

**EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS**
- Ability to read, write, and speak English, with knowledge of basic math skills. Grade 12 education preferred
- Valid equipment operator certification for power jack required
- Valid equipment operator certification for forklift considered as asset
- Previous experience in order picking, warehousing and/or production preferred
- Previous experience with RF scanners and electronic inventory systems preferred
- High level of attention to detail required
- Ability to work successfully with a team and independently
- Ability to comfortably lift up to 50 lbs (22 kg), repetitively

**CONFIDENTIALITY**

The incumbent will be working in a proprietary environment. Policies and procedures are shared between Golden Valley Foods Ltd. and the L.H. Gray & Son group of companies. Discussion of these with non-Golden Valley Foods and L.H. Gray affiliated employees is strictly forbidden. Some specific policies can be shared with Fresh Start as Golden Valley Foods owners.

**HEALTH, SAFETY, AND ENVIRONMENTAL**
- Work in compliance with divisional and legislative health, safety and environmental procedures
- Refrain from removing or altering safety devices or guarding unless hazardous energies are controlled through lockout-tagout methods
- Report any unsafe conditions or unsafe acts
- Report defect in any equipment or protective device
- Ensure that the required protective equipment is used for the assigned tasks
- Participate in all required health, safety and environmental training
- Report any accidents/incidents to supervisor
- Assist in investigating accidents/incidents
- Refrain from engaging in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running or rough and boisterous conduct

2 Shifts available:
Monday - Friday from 8:00am - 4:30pm

Monday - Friday from 3:00pm - 11:30pm

This is a full-time position offering 40.00 hours weekly with opportunity for overtime.
