**Job Description**:
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health), patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Reporting to the Manager, Security Systems, the Coordinator is responsible for the management of the Security Systems department across multi-sites and geographies within Island Health. The coordinator is responsible for maintaining policies and procedures, coordinates protection building design and security technology input for Island Health projects and administers the platform of electronic and other related security systems and technology; provides leadership in the implementation and evaluation of new and existing security related technologies; coordinates the system linkages with other Island Health departments; supports the Manager with daily operations.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education, Training And Experience**:
A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Facilities Planning or a related field with five (5) years relevant experience in the Health Care Field, including three (3) years recent experience supervising staff. Relevant experience includes experience developing and implementing processes and procedures, managing projects across multi-site organizations with a focus on Operations support to ensure appropriate patient care
- centred support.

- Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with all Island Health staff and external agencies
- Effective change management and problem solving skills
- Ability to organize work and set priorities
- Demonstrated knowledge of health care system

- Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a highly dynamic environment.
