In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Reporting to the Director, Protection Services & Security Systems, the Manager, Security Systems is responsible for all aspects of planning, organizing, and directing security system operations, investigations, systems, and training across multi-sites and geographies within Island Health. Ensures policies and procedures comply with professional, legal, and Island Health standards. As a member of the Protection Services Management team, participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of services, bringing a systematic and strategic methodology.

The Manager coordinates protection building design and security technology input for Island Health projects and administers the platform of electronic and other related security systems and technology; provides leadership in the implementation and evaluation of new and existing security related technologies; coordinates the system linkages with other Island Health departments; supports the Director with daily operations.

The Manager is also responsible for providing strategic leadership in the design, implementation and evaluation of security systems development and related change initiatives for Protection Services in accordance with the vision, strategic direction, annual goals and objectives of Island Health. The Manager oversees projects to completion and ensures effective design and continuous evaluation.

Travel may be a requirement of this position. Transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of the Vancouver Island Health Authority in accordance with the service assignment and may require the use of a personal vehicle.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education, Training And Experience**:
A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Master's degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, Social Sciences, or a related discipline, plus a minimum of seven (7) years of recent related experience in one or more areas of Health Care Support Services including experience at the management level with a focus on project management, security system analysis, security system design, and the use of a formal systems delivery methodology.

Experience developing and implementing processes and procedures, and managing projects across multi-site organizations with a focus on Operations support to ensure appropriate patient care-centered support.

Experience conducting security system analysis, security system design, and the use of formal systems delivery methodology.

Valid BC Driver's License.
