Abatement / Flood Technician

The **Abatement/Flood Technician** responds to emergencies in residential homes and commercial properties that require asbestos mitigating procedures.
Technicians are responsible for setting up special containment chambers, creating negative air, and completing demolition under abatement protocols.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Provide up to date communication and photos to Project Manager and Production Scheduler regarding the status of work.
- Manage on site emergency response.
- Build effective containment chambers and negative air flow.
- Work collaboratively with the Hazmat crews
- Set up necessary drying equipment as per industry protocols.
- Monitor drying process and adjust/remove equipment as required.
- Refer any questions from property owners or adjusters to the Project Manager.
- Fill out and submit all necessary paperwork related to each job in a timely fashion.
- Ensure work sites are kept safe and clean of debris upon completion of job.
**Qualifications**:
- Moderate Risk certification
- High Risk certification an asset
- 3+ years of experience in restoration/abatement
- A valid driver license, drivers abstract is required
- Communicate and understanding of the English language
- Ability to work with a crew as well as alone, with little to no supervision
- Able to work overtime when necessary
- Superior customer service attitude
- Knowledge of construction related hand tools and power tools
- Knowledge of building materials and basic construction fundamentals
- Experience driving and parking a full sized van an asset
