$26-$35/hour (based on experience and certifications)

What you'll do
You'll lead mitigation crews and subcontractors on emergency and scheduled restoration jobs—floods, fires, and other losses—making sure the work gets done right, safely, and on schedule.
Respond to emergency calls and assess job scope on arrival
Conduct safety briefings before work begins—crew and subcontractors attend; no exceptions
Ensure all required WorkSafeBC documentation is posted on site
Assign tasks and coordinate crew members and subcontractors throughout the day
Communicate expectations to subcontractors and ensure they follow company safety protocols and standards
Enforce PPE use, hazard protocols, and WorkSafeBC requirements for everyone on site
Perform and oversee water extraction, moisture mapping, structural drying, and equipment placement
Manage mould remediation projects, surface cleaning, and contents handling
Controlled demolition/tear-out, ensuring proper disposal of damaged material
Monitor progress throughout the job to ensure IICRC standards, company standards, and WorkSafeBC requirements are followed
Document work progresses: (photos, moisture readings, daily logs)
Communicate with customers, adjusters, and project managers—often serving as the main point of contact on site
Train, mentor, and develop junior technicians
Complete final walk-throughs and completion reports
Secure the site at the end of each day
Coordinate equipment, vehicle readiness, and supply restocking for your team
Step in and work alongside your team when the job demands it
What you'll need
Supervisory experience
WorkSafe Level 2 Abatement worker certificate
IICRC WRT (Water Restoration Technician) certification — required
IICRC ASD (Applied Structural Drying) certification — required
IICRC FSRT (Fire & Smoke Restoration Technician) or AMRT (Applied Microbial Remediation Technician) — preferred
Minimum 3 years of hands-on mitigation/restoration experience
Proven experience leading crews or supervising job sites
Valid Class 5 BC driver's licence with a clean abstract
Ability to pass a criminal record check
Strong communication skills—written and spoken English—and a calm, professional presence with customers under stress
High school diploma or equivalent
