Student Recruitment Adviser

Reporting to the Supervisor, Student Recruitment On Campus and Online Engagement, Office of the Registrar, the Student Recruitment Adviser will provide assistance in the day-to-day operations of the Student Recruitment Office and play a leadership role in Sheridan’s prospective on-campus and virtual engagement activities.
**What You’ll Be Doing**
- Conduct advising appointments to internal and external prospective students; discuss program options, career opportunities, online career advising tools, transfer options, post-secondary admission process, and post-secondary policies and procedures;
- Conduct presentations to prospective students and assist with the campus tour and group visit programs;
- Providing the first point of contact in a multi-channel environment supporting prospective students, applicants and the public that supports the customer service model for Sheridan and establishes a positive customer relationship;
- Assist in the planning of, and participate in, all student recruitment on-campus and online activities;
- Perform routine administrative functions in a confidential and professional manner such as
- Developing detailed reports relating to prospective groups visit activity, identifying issues and areas for improvement;
- Maintaining and updating inventory, mailing and database systems;
- Working with and scheduling Student Ambassadors, where appropriate, to support the career advising presentations, events, and book resulting campus tours, etc.;
- Exercise discretion, independent judgement and problem solving to assess needs and situation;
- Occasionally participate in off-campus events and community outreach activities, e.g. Ontario College Fair, High School Fair, etc.;
- Other duties as assigned.
**About You**
You have excellent **oral and written communication** skills.
You enjoy balancing many different tasks and can **prioritize**multiple projects while staying **organized** and maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
You enjoy working **independently** and as part of a **team** in a fast-paced environment.
You use your interpersonal skills to build working relationships and provide excellent customer service.
- Successfully completed a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
- 2 years experience in an advising or student recruitment function (within the educational sector preferred)
- Experience working in a post-secondary institution, and knowledge in the admission and recruitment process considered an asset
- Public speaking experience considered an asset
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including; word, excel, teams, powerpoint
- Available to work overtime weeks as required
