Reporting to the AVP, Global Engagement, the Director, Future Students (International) holds responsibility for designing, operationalizing and implementing innovative international student recruitment, onboarding and persistence strategies to grow and diversify international student enrolment and enhance student completion rates at Sheridan College.
Using a strategic enrolment management (SEM) approach, the incumbent is responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives to attract and enroll international students at Sheridan College. These functions will be complemented with strategic and innovative onboarding and retention initiatives that will galvanize the international student experience at all points of the international student lifecycle.
This role involves leading a dynamic team, fostering relationships with international partners, and ensuring a seamless student experience process for prospective students from around the globe.
The Director will work collaboratively with a cross functional team including the Registrar and AVP, Enrollment Management, the AVP, Institutional Research, Academic Leadership Teams (Deans/Associate Deans), and the Associate Director, International Student experience amongst others to make data informed decisions to position Sheridan as a leader in Global Engagement.
**What You’ll Be Doing**
- Developing and executing a comprehensive international recruitment strategy aligned with the college's enrollment goals;
- Collaborating with senior leadership to set annual recruitment targets and budget allocations;
- Providing operational and strategic leadership for a team of Regional Student Recruitment Managers who will identify and cultivate relationships with prospective students, international schools, agents, and other partners to promote Sheridan College;
- Providing ongoing support, training and professional development for the international student recruitment team and in-country representatives to promote a high-performance team mindset;
- Developing and implementing targeted marketing campaigns to attract prospective international students;
- Engaging and negotiating commercially and strategically focused compliant agreements with international recruitment agents to support business operations;
- Implementing and managing an agent evaluation process to meet enrolment diversification targets aligned with institutional targets;
- Overseeing the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) activity to improve student/agent communications and maximize conversion of inquiries to enrolment;
- Ensuring timely and accurate communication protocols exist between the agents and the college to ensure agents are informed of strategic priorities with regards to program recruitment and student diversification;
- Designing and implementing a comprehensive agent onboarding program to ensure those representing Sheridan are aligned with the college’s values and priorities;
- Leading strategic development, management and reporting of portfolio capital and operating budgets; Establishes priorities and seeks opportunities to maximize capacity of resources;
- Collaborating with leadership team to manage fiscal, physical and human resources, including development of budget for joint initiatives;
- Monitoring and analyzing recruitment and admissions data to assess the effectiveness of strategies and initiatives;
- Preparing regular reports for senior leadership, highlighting trends, challenges, and opportunities in international student recruitment;
- Utilizing data to make informed decisions and adjustments to recruitment strategies;
- Forecasting enrolment trends for future student intakes;
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant immigration regulations and institutional policies;
- Managing risks associated with international recruitment and admissions, including financial, legal, and reputational risks;
- Staying informed about changes in international education policies and practices;
- Maintaining continuous improvement and lean management mindsets;
- Performing other duties as assigned.
