**Online Grade 10-12 Educator (Learning Specialist**)

**Summary of the Opportunity**:
SelfDesign Learning Foundation is seeking an experienced certified online educator.

The scope of work includes weekly planning and support of learning, through online meetings and formative feedback, as well as semester-end summative assessment.

This is a 12-month contract opportunity from **August 2025 to July 2026**.

This role is ideal for someone experienced/interested in providing educator services for: Workplace Math 10, Physical and Health Education 10, Composition 10, Creative Writing 10, Social Studies 10, Science 10, Photography 10 and Foods 10.

At SelfDesign, courses are grouped and integrated into interest-based bundles called themes, which contain approximately 3 courses / theme, or the equivalent.

We are looking for one or two educators to support up to 2 themes. There are 15-20 learners in each theme

Work Environment:
We are a remote organization.

We operate during Pacific Time zone business hours, Monday to Friday between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm.

You set your own hours of work, typically between the business hours noted above. You also need to be available for occasional online meetings during these same hours. Meetings are scheduled in advance.

Timelines:
Contract start date: August 15, 2025

Contract end date: July 31, 2026

Budget:
$23,963/theme

**Contract Details**

Oversight:
You will work at the direction of the Team Lead.

Services Required:

- Weekly planning and support of learning, based on SelfDesign created assignments/curriculum
- Host two learning lounges (2 hours total) each week with theme group
- Host two grade 10-12 real-time meetings during the learning year
- Weekly formative assessment, according to SelfDesign assessment practices
- End of semester (twice yearly) summative assessment, according to SelfDesign assessment practices
- Team meetings and orientation

Experience and Credentials:

- Experience working with learners in grades 10-12
- Experience and/or interest in supporting learners in an online setting
- Experience and/or interest in learner-centered education
- Experience in personalized, passion-based learning
- Online Learning experience is preferred

Mandatory Requirements
- B.C. Certified teacher in good standing
- Prior to being contracted, applicants must successfully complete an online orientation prior to beginning their work with learners. This orientation supports deeper learning about SelfDesign philosophy and approach, and connects new educators with their mentors.
- All contractors are required to take the SelfDesign online orientation courses.
