This position is highly visible throughout all businesses and functions within ivari and provides an opportunity to gain exposure to all levels of management. In addition to execution of a regular cycle of required audits and risk-based audits, this role will support the third-party risk management policy oversight.

**You will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of tasks**
- Develop, for approval by the audit committee, long-term and annual audit plans using a risk-based model to guide the strategic activities of the internal audit function. This includes developing an internal audit plan that is responsive to emerging risks and ivari’s board approved risk appetite
- Oversee outsourced audit resources in planning, scheduling, and monitoring of multiple audits, projects, and the annual Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) cycle
- Work closely with the audit engagement teams to monitor management’s corrective actions for audit issues within specified time frames and provide updated reporting to ivari leadership and the audit committee of the board
- Build and maintain strong cross-functional working relationship with leaders and external auditors, ensuring alignment and coordination of assurance activities
- Engage with the audit committee of the board regularly on the company's risk assessment, control environment, and compliance
- Perform advanced fieldwork activities, including inquiry of auditees inspection of records and documents, and observations and re‐performance of complex control procedures: incorporating the use of data analytics to improve effectiveness and efficiency of the internal audit function
- Assist in regulatory audits or inquiries (OSFI / FINTRAC, etc.) as needed
- Manage and remediate issues of non-compliance
- Liaise with industry groups, regulators, and internal/external auditors, as required
- Collaborate with a global audit organization to share knowledge, expertise and best practices. Seek opportunities to leverage the resources and expertise of a global organization
- Participate in special projects and investigations as necessary

**What we are looking for**
- At least 10+ years of relevant experience
- Professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) required
- Undergraduate degree required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working with internal controls and risk management at large financial service institutions or public accounting firm preferred
- Experience in leading operational Internal audits, IT internal audits, enterprise risk assessments and annual risk-based internal audit planning
- Experience with project management activities and managing outsource / co-sourced engagements.
- Financial services industry experience, particularly life insurance sector is preferred
- Proven organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple and changing priorities
