And our team is growing Cambium is looking for an Accounting Assistant/Junior Accountant to join the Finance Team Peterborough and support the bookkeeping and accounting functions. including following up on outstanding accounts, performing account reconciliations, posting payments, preparing deposits, and generating regular financial reports. This individual will also be responsible for maintaining the company’s financial accounts by making accurate and timely entries and reconciliations in the financial records, and spreadsheets. Payroll administration may also be required.
- Oversee and maintain accounts receivable
- Assist in monthly, quarterly, year-end closing procedures
- Perform monthly reconciliations for banks and credit cards
- Assist with review and processing of expenses and payroll, on an ad hoc basis
- Provide assistance to bookkeeper, on an ad hoc basis
- Maintain an accurate and complete trail of supporting documentation for all financial and bookkeeping activities.
- Comply with company policy and procedures at all times.
- Provide accounting administrative support as required.
**Job Requirements**:
- Completion of an accounting or bookkeeping diploma or degree from an accredited school.
- Three (3) years of experience in a general accounting/bookkeeping role
- Familiarity with the Construction Act is an asset
- Excellent computer skills, including MS Word and Excel. Experience with Ajera considered an asset
- Excellent attention to detail with strong mathematical aptitude and critical thinking skills.
- Good interpersonal and customer service skills
- Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
- Desire to succeed in a dynamic, progressive organization
- Valid Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle.
