**Job description**

As a RA Jones Technician, you oversee operations of the machine and packaging capsules in compliance with the customers’ expectations, the quality standards, and the health and safety procedures. You are responsible for setting up, adjusting, and troubleshooting the machines until a quality product has been produced. This role will also act as additional coverage for the machine operators on shift.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Prepare the changeover reports and material for smooth shift changes
- Performs in-process inspections to ensure the product is meeting the required specifications.
- Review production schedule and documentation to determine what product will be run on which machine.
- Maintain accurate production logs as required by the company’s quality standards.
- Perform preventive maintenance on RA Jones machine as per maintenance schedule.
- Control HMI to operate Pump and RA Jones Packaging machine.
- Ability to analyze and troubleshoot alarms for both the RA Jones and Constant piston pump.
- Check products for defects and to ensure conformance to company standards.
- Maintain general housekeeping of Production areas. Keep all processing equipment off the floor and in proper storage areas.
- Assist operators with filling boxes by staging empty boxes on table if there is time available.
- Availability to work a 3-shift rotation, including coverage of unexpected leaves of absences, vacation and overtime as required.
- Ability to work according to tight schedules and timelines.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Strict adherence to DSI Underground’s Health and Safety program.

**Qualification and Requirements**
- Minimum 2-year Mechanical technician, technologist, or diploma in related discipline.
- Process plant or related industrial experience an asset.
- Experience with Packaging equipment.
- Solid organization and time management abilities.
- Strong computer skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills combined with a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- High level of personal integrity with a strong work ethic.
- Knowledge of HMI an asset.

**Physical Requirements and Work Setting**

This position works in an industrial chemical resin plant. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly be required to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
