**Focus**
The primary focus of the HR Administrative Assistant is to provide exemplary service and support to front line staff and management in a variety of ways. You play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth daily operations by proactively anticipating needs of both staff and management and provide acute administrative services. As the point of contact for employees at your facility, you are responsible for providing general HR services such as answering employee questions (or escalating inquiries as appropriate to corporate HR and Payroll), responding to complaints, onboarding new hires, and liaising with HR and Payroll to resolve employee record and timecard issues.
**Key Accountabilities**:
- HR onboarding functions such as supporting recruitment efforts by assisting with the screening of resumes, scheduling, and participating in interviews alongside hiring managers, collecting and processing required new hire documentation, coordinating onboarding activities including training requests, tracking and obtaining benefit enrollment forms, and maintaining employee records both electronically (files and Dayforce HR/Payroll system) and hard copy;
- Ongoing HR support throughout the employee lifecycle including submission of leave of absence and termination information, liaise between the local Leadership Team and corporate HR to capture employment changes, and respond to inquiries from staff and management regarding benefits and HR policies;
- Support supervisors and managers with resolution of timecard issues prior to submitting bi-weekly payroll, paying particular attention to overtime and holiday pay;
- Act as administrative support for the local Leadership Team
- Participate and support local supervisors and managers in the creation of OHS strategies (includes leave of absence tracking and WCB incident reporting and claims management), policies, and initiatives to promote a safe and healthy workplace, and be part of the local OHS team;
- Perform general office duties such as answering phones and responding to external inquiries, processing mail and courier services, ordering office supplies, submitting staff expense claims, etc.;
- Other duties as assigned.
**Key Attributes and Skills**
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and ability to learn in-house software programs
- Excellent communication (verbal, written, and listening) and able to communicate effectively with a diverse group of people

**Education and Experience**:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Required minimum 2 years working in a similar role, ideally within a warehouse or production facility
- Completed or in progress post-secondary diploma in business administration, HR, or similar, considered an asset
- Past experience with Dayforce or other HRIS systems considered an asset
