**Job purpose**
This position will report to the Purchasing Manager. Tasks and responsibilities will support the Supply Chain department as described below and are to be conducted in a timely, professional and courteous manner for the stated functions.
**Duties and responsibilities**
Procurement functions will include but are not limited to:
- Consistent and accurate use of ERP system tools such as IndustriOs, BI Reporting, Tableau and Shortage Reports
- Negotiate best price and delivery for material purchases with focus on ensuring compliance to project budgets / cost-tracking sheets
- Collate purchase requisitions, RFQ’s and BOM releases for the required materials / services
- Being proactive and maintaining on-time delivery, provide support to projects as required within the supply chain
- Interact & build relationships with suppliers through meetings, site visits, etc.
- Participate in the data collection of purchasing metrics, such as cost savings, trends and vendor KPI’s as part of the SHAPE Operational Review Presentations
- Assist Aftermarket Group on material orders and commercial transactions when required
- Create travel reservations for Office Administration when needed
- Provide regular inventory monitoring and support physical inventory count
Logistics functions will include but are not limited to:
- Organize logistics activities such as scheduling pick-ups and drop-offs while liaising between brokers, carriers and customers
- Work closely with project management and production to schedule inbound and outbound shipments based on production dates and customer requested delivery dates
- Prepare necessary shipping documents and maintain accurate records of shipments including cross-border shipments
- Provide all necessary information for the preparation of customs documents including CUSMA tariff codes, country of origin and tax ID numbers
- Negotiate freight rates with inbound and outbound freight carriers to ensure the best price and service levels
- Follow up on delivery delays and resolving shipping related issues such as customs delays, inadequate service levels and quantity/quality discrepancies
- Assist Shipping / Receiving department when required including emergency pick-up and drop-off to local couriers
**Qualifications**
**Education/Experience**
College/University graduate with minimum 3 years’ experience within an Automation/Manufacturing procurement and logistics function.
**Interpersonal Skills**
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must be able to balance and prioritize multiple tasks while still maintaining accuracy and thoroughness
- Must have excellent computer knowledge in most Microsoft office software, specifically Microsoft Excel
**Working conditions**
General office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.
**Physical requirements**
Must be able to read, write, and communicate fluently in English. Must have good vision.
