Edmonton, Canada Alberta Breast Surgical Oncology Full time

A busy General Surgeon’s office is seeking a motivated and organized individual to join our medical practice. We deal with high volume, fast turn around times and largely with Oncology patients.
- MUST have MOA/unit clerk certificate OR will consider equivalent medical office experience. General and/or plastic surgery experience ideal.
- Proficiency in HealthQuest is an asset.
- MUST have AHC billing/reconciliation experience.
- Experienced with NetCare & e-Referrals preferred. Connect Care training an asset.
- Strong attention to details is necessary. Must be willing to learn, be highly organized and able to multitask in a busy, high pressure environment and adapt under changing circumstances.
- Able to work both independently and in a team setting.
- Must enjoy working with people and have excellent communication skills as there is a high degree of interaction with patients and a variety of disciplines at all levels of the organization.
- Medical Terminology with strong computer skills with Microsoft Office programs (such as Word), E-mail, and Google Calendar required.
- Maintains a professional image and demonstrated ability to remain calm, courteous/compassionate, sensitive and tactful.

Responsibilities including but not limited to:

- Managing referrals via phone and fax, scheduling office appointments, scheduling diagnostic imaging, and incoming faxes.
- Meeting with patients after appointment to book and review surgery. Patient education.
- Manage all OR bookings/dates, as well as managing surgical wait lists.
- Answering a multi-line phone system.
- Creating and managing schedules. Inputting into EMR and google calendars.
- Alberta Health Care Billing and Reconciliations.
- Processing labs, faxing, scanning, and indexing information into patient charts.
- Reception duties as needed and occasional transcription duties.

**Salary**:

- Competitive salary based on experience.

This is a full-time, Monday to Friday 40 hrs per week career position.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 per week
