Production Supervisor

Centrally located in the GTA, Viscor is a division of Leviton Manufacturing's Lighting Business Unit operating in Canada for over 70 years. The Production Supervisor will oversee and supervise employees working on multiple assembly lines. Duties would include, but not limited to; scheduling and planning of work orders; scheduling and planning of personnel to meet customer demand; and assisting in improving processes and information to increase efficiency and safety and assisting in the oversight and training of personnel;. This is a "hands-on" position requiring ongoing shop floor interaction with assembly personnel and machine operators, to oversee production and to provide on-the-spot advice, safety supervision, and training, etc. as required. **_ESSENTIAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENT: EXPERIENCE WITH THE ASSEMBLY OF ELECTRICAL PRODUCTS & WIRING _** **ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES** - assist in day to day direction and management of assembly department personnel - assists in the support and training of personnel - can assist in training personnel with proper wiring guidelines and assembly of LED lighting products where required. - in coordination with other shift supervisors, will help to plan and prepare the floor and ensure jobs are set-up for proper work flow. - leading/coordinating activities to accomplish assembly process improvements - Assist to develop systems which improve safety, quality and productivity of the production lines and products, and eliminate waste - promoting and ensuring a safe work environment; and taking action as necessary to maintain the health and safety of department personnel - ensures and maintains that quality procedures and standards are consistently followed, and takes effective action to remediate any deficiencies. - assisting in the organization of repair and routine maintenance of production tools and equipment - participating in inter-departmental productions meetings and collaborating with other department heads as required. - effective teamwork, communication and coordination with other department heads - conducting employee performance reviews - coaching and mentoring staff - all other tasks as assigned **QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE** - 5+ years of related experience in assembly operations of electrical products - Complete understanding of modern equipment and assembly operations and processes - Lighting or Electrical Equipment Manufacturing experience an asset - Problem solver with a proven track record of leadership - Motivation and team building skills - Strong oral and written communication skills Interested applicants may send their resume to Viscor Inc.
