Order Desk Associate

Centura is a wholesale distributor of flooring and related products that was founded in 1961 and has grown to become one of Canada’s most formidable floor covering distribution companies. Centura is looking for a full-time Order Desk Associate to join their team at their new London location.
The Order Desk Associate position is responsible for providing excellent customer service and building lasting customer relationships. This individual should be capable of ensuring order accuracy, verifying order details, communicating with customers and relaying the information to other team members. This person will play a vital role in the successful operation of Centura by bringing resourcefulness, commitment and a strong work ethic to our dynamic team.
**Responsibilities**
- Receive and process orders accurately and efficiently by entering order details, verifying pricing and availability, and ensuring all necessary information is included.
- Provide support to customers regarding product inquiries, order status updates, shipping information, and resolution of any issues or concerns related to their orders in a prompt and professional manner.
- Monitor incoming orders, prioritize urgent orders, and coordinate with other departments including the warehouse, purchasing and inventory management to ensure timely order fulfillment.
- Develop a strong knowledge of Centura's products, services, pricing, and promotions to effectively assist customers with their inquiries and make product recommendations as needed.
- Maintain a work area that is clean, organized and always presentable to create a welcoming environment for Centura customers.
- Attend training seminars as required.
- Provide back-up support for the Showroom and Warehouse teams as needed.
- Comply with all Centura policies and procedures.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by Centura Management.
**Qualifications**
- High school diploma or GED
- 2 years experience in a high-paced sales and customer service role
- Able to deal with customers tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
- Superior telephone manners and strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Excellent listening skills
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
- Adhere to all Centura Policies and Procedures
- Represent and promote Centura in a competent and professional manner
**Work Environment and Physical Demands**
This job requires mainly light physical exertion associated with a typical office-based role, with a frequent requirement for high-intensity mental, visual, or auditory concentration
- Long periods of sitting required
- Occasional lifting from 5-49 lbs required
- Infrequent lifting from 50+ lbs assisted
