**Job Summary**:
This position is responsible for the assembly of optical and mechanical assemblies, while working in a fast paced, dynamic and challenging environment. Our team works Monday to Friday single shifts with onsite training provided.

**Duties and Responsibilities: (including but not limited to)**:

- Assembly of company products and components including:

- Optical rotary joint assembly
- Mechanical assembly
- Completing and maintaining assembly documentation;
- Packaging of products;
- Reporting of process and product related anomalies and problems;
- Optical verification and testing of products;
- Adherence to ISO quality system;
- Support Shop Leads - ensuring approved processes are followed;
- Other duties as assigned in support of production objectives.

- Encourages continuous improvement through participation.

**Skills and Abilities**:

- Good manual dexterity;
- Experience with fiber optics, electrical, mechanical assemblies;
- Good verbal and written communication skills;
- Willingness and ability to meet challenging customer requirements and schedules;
- High attention to detail with ability to learn and multitask;
- Ability to work independently and within a team with mínimal supervision, maintaining focus on work quality;
- Self-motivated and highly proactive work style with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines;
- Ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings an asset;
- Excellent time management and organizational skills;
- Experience working within an ISO or other quality system;
- Experience with Microsoft Office products and other computer systems (ie. Time tracking).

**Qualifications**
- Completion of Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technician or Technology program or minimum 2 years’ experience as an assembly technician in a related field;
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship.
