**Position Description: Electro-Mechanical Assembly Technician**

Since its origin in 1981, JASCO has developed and implemented acoustic technologies for underwater acoustics, ranging from advanced acoustic recording systems design to complex acoustic modelling algorithms. We perform acoustic consulting, field monitoring and data analysis services. Our work encompasses all stages of environmental reviews and assessments of underwater noise. We work with regulatory, oil and gas, marine construction, energy, fisheries, transport, and defence sectors. JASCO has offices in Victoria, BC, Halifax, NS, the United States, Australia, Germany, and the United Kingdom.

JASCO is currently looking for an Electronics Assembly Technician in our Dartmouth, NS (Woodside) location.

The engineering team in Halifax develops and supports a variety of underwater autonomous acoustic recorders. JASCO recorders are designed to record sounds of everything from industrial noise to marine mammals.

**Position Overview**

As an Electro-Mechanical Assembly Technician you will be responsible for the assembly and repair & overhaul of company electro-mechanical products and components.

**Responsibilities**
- Assembly/disassembly of company products and components
- Assembly and soldering of wiring, cabling harnesses and connectors
- Cleaning and inspection of components
- Completing assembly and maintenance documentation
- Reporting of anomalies and problems
- Packaging of products in preparation for shipping
- Assisting with inventory management
- Adherence to quality system
- Other duties as required

**Required Qualifications and Experience**
- Ability to read and interpret basic schematics, mechanical assembly drawing and specifications
- Experience assembling mechanical and electrical components and assemblies
- Soldering skills compliant with recognized industry workmanship standards
- Good manual dexterity
- Keen attention to detail
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment maintaining focus on work quality
- Willingness and ability to learn

**Education**
- Grade 12 with recognized community college technician diploma or equivalent experience and capability
