**Position Title**:Process Operator (Multiple openings, Weekday shift - Monday to Thursday, Weekend shift - Friday to Sunday)

**Operating Unit**:Empower Environmental Solutions - Calgary

**Reports to**: Process Shift Supervisor

**Shift Positions: Weekday Shift**:

- Monday to Thursday, 7.00 AM to 5.00 PM and additional times as required. Permanent position. **Weekend Shift**:

- Friday to Sunday, 7.00 AM to 7.00 PM and additional times as required. Permanent position.

**During the ramp-up stages, every position will be required to work Monday to Friday, 7.00 AM to 5.00 PM and overtime as approved.**

**Supervisory Responsibilities**:None

**Summary**: This hourly role is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of assigned process and packaging equipment within specified operating conditions.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**include but are not limited to the following: _(Management reserves the right to add or modify the duties and responsibilities at any time.)_
- Support and participate actively in all site-level HSE initiatives.
- Understand and follow Company safety policies, site procedures, and relevant Alberta OHS legislation and execute safe work procedures and standard operating procedures properly.
- Develop situational awareness, practice risk mitigation, complete FLHAs, JHAs, etc., report all incidents promptly, and ensure thorough and accurate documentation of worksite inspections and compliance activities.
- Monitor process system in assigned area(s) and conduct in-process inspection and finished goods’ sampling and testing.
- Report any variances affecting quality to the process shift supervisor or designate and support troubleshooting efforts to implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor necessary raw material inventory and support the process shift supervisor to fulfill business demands and ensure that KPIs are achieved safely.
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation including equipment inspection checklists, production records, etc., and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and manufacturing targets.
- Maintain a clean work area and report issues promptly for resolution.
- Be able to support and cover another shift if required.

- Trade certification in a relevant field and/or equivalent work experience operating process equipment.
- A minimum of five years’ experience in manufacturing, waste management, or environmental services.
- Experience supporting HSE initiatives and/or membership in OHS committees are assets.
- Process control room and HMI and PLC experience are preferred.
- Have mechanical aptitude, be able to troubleshoot and resolve production issues, and collaborate with maintenance personnel when applicable.
- Be proficient in using hand and power tools, lifting heavy items, and performing physical tasks as required.
- Able to operate powered mobile equipment and follow necessary safe work procedures.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- A working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is an asset.

**Computer Skills**:Able to use HMI screens.
