As we continue to grow, we are seeking an **Assistant Manager, Distribution** to support our logistics, distribution, and yard management processes.

**Job Summary**

The **Assistant Manager, Distribution** is responsible for overseeing the loading, distribution, and organization of firewood deliveries. You will work closely with the **Manufacturing Manager** to ensure sufficient production levels, as well as with the **GM and Driver Foreman** to guarantee smooth and efficient delivery operations.

Your role includes **leading the loading of trucks, ensuring quality control (QC) on deliveries, managing pick-ups for retail customers**, and optimizing the **organization of the yard and storage areas**. You will also be responsible for training employees on safe and effective firewood handling, machinery operation, and best practices in logistics and distribution. You will be responsible for producing with and overseeing the firewood production of firewood processing on our operating site.

**Key ResponsibilitiesDistribution & Logistics Management**
- Operate **skid steers, telehandlers, and other machinery** to load trucks efficiently.
- Ensure that **drivers are loading and QC’ing the correct firewood** for their delivery routes.
- Assist in the organization of the **yard and worksite** to maintain **efficient storage, space utilization, and traffic flow**.
- Support delivery operations and be available to **assist when routes experience issues, delays, or equipment failures**.
- Ensure all **purchase orders (PO) are successfully loaded out** according to company requirements.
- Ensure that the appropriate firewood is available for distribution
- Aid in the production and inventory management for woods being processed on this site location including woods such as cedar, apple and cherry.

**Operations & Equipment Management**
- Have a **strong working knowledge of firewood processing units** to support operations.
- Train employees in **loading techniques, residential and commercial order fulfillment, and pick-up handling**.
- Provide **hands-on training** for chainsaw use, firewood processors, and **routine equipment maintenance**.
- Facilitate **dump and recycling runs** to keep the worksite clean and efficient.
- Develop **waste management solutions** to optimize by-products and maintain site organization.

**Leadership & Staff Development**
- Hold staff **accountable to company expectations, safety protocols, and workflow systems**.
- Help **establish and enforce company metrics** related to distribution and yard efficiency.
- Assist in the development and implementation of **Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)** for all processes under your jurisdiction.
- Support employee **training and development** to foster growth and efficiency in the workforce.
- Take a **developmental leadership approach** with employees by mentoring and helping them upskill.

**Communication & Process Improvement**
- Maintain **a deep understanding of the company calendar** and scheduling needs.
- Be **well-versed** in Timber Ridge Firewood, Wood Depot, and West Valley Firewood product lines.
- Be able to **answer industry-specific questions** from employees and customers.
- Continuously look for **ways to improve organization, workflow, and efficiency** in distribution operations.
- Assist in creating and refining **company paperwork and reporting processes** relevant to distribution.

**Role Expectations**
- This is a **full-time position** with an expectation of **consistent and reliable attendance**.
- **Time off requests must be approved** by the GM or CEO.
- **Sick days must be reported before the start of the workday**.
- Extended time off (2+ weeks) requires **at least 8 weeks' notice**.
- Ensure that **PO loadouts are completed successfully** and all distribution-related tasks align with company expectations.

**Qualifications & Skills**
- **Bachelor's Degree preferred**:

- **Previous experience in distribution, logistics, warehouse management, or yard operations** preferred.
