About the team you are joining

You will join the Business Partnering team in the Human Resources (HR) department, in IATA called People, Performance and Development (PPD), reporting to the Director, PPD Geneva/Montreal and Business Engagement. With the support of an HR Specialist and an HR Intern who report to your position, you will manage the HR operations related to the Montreal Office work and act as a recruiter for Montreal-based positions, as specified below.

What your day would be like
- Be responsible for HR operations, ensuring the quality and efficiency of processes and activities
- Manage a team composed of one HR Specialist and one Intern dealing with work permits, contracts, payroll, insurances, STD/LTD, etc.
- Validate Payroll every two weeks
- Be responsible for all governmental reports to be submitted such as Bill90 related to Training activities or Employment Equity report
- Ensure IATA Montreal is compliant with the Canadian regulations regarding Policy and Workplace Health & Safety and the work associated with it, including being the Chair of the H&S Committees
- Act as Designated Recipients or Investigator in case of Notice of Occurrence related to the “violence-free and harassment-free workplace policy”
- Lead local policies review as required by applicable legislative changes or updates
- Manage local partners such as relocation agencies, health management company, etc.
- Partner with hiring managers and HR Business Partners to manage the entire recruitment cycle for positions based in Montreal i.e. define business needs and selection criteria, attract, source, screen, interview, and select prospective employees, ensuring that staffing needs are being met in line with IATA’s business strategy and goals
- Train hiring managers on recruitment approach and best practices
- Support HR Business Partners in case of some local initiatives or tasks such as local Training initiative, Performance Improvement Plan (PIP), sick leaves, or any specific individual situation to be dealt with
- Manage specific projects (for example Accessibility in the Workplace, Pay Equity Plan, etc.)

We would love to hear from you if you
- Have minimum 7 years’ experience working in an HR function in Canada, ideally in a federally regulated working environment
- Enjoy working in an operational and administrative function and are comfortable with data and numbers
- Demonstrate successful experiences in the entire sourcing and recruiting process
- Are solution-oriented with a “can-do” and “customer-oriented” attitude and solid communication and collaboration skills across different cultures
- Are fluent in English
