**Job Summary** Join our team as a Field Service Supervisor overseeing a team of field service technicians who provide testing, diagnostics and certification of laboratory biosafety and chemical safety ventilation equipment, devices and controlled environments. **Responsibilities** - Direct the day-to-day activities of the technicians by providing clear instructions on job requirements. Provide the necessary guidance, motivation, organization and control to employees in order to meet the planned work schedules and maintain staff efficiency. - Coordinate the efficient and effective scheduling of manpower to jobs to ensure maximum labour utilization, a fair distribution of work, and travel times and that all customer’s requirements are met, on time and in a cost effective manner - Oversee the quality of technicians' work by conducting routine field assessments, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations. - Review technicians' service reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with company procedures and quality assurance guidelines, and work with the Quality Assurance Team to identify any discrepancies or areas for improvement. - Deliver "on-the-job" training to Field Service technicians, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively. - Take charge of the onboarding and offboarding processes for direct reports, ensuring seamless transitions and managing all equipment needs effectively. - Ensure all technicians conform with company policies and procedures and regulatory requirements and document all incidents of non-compliance. - Investigate, analyze and identify the root causes of all problems encountered in the field and working together with the technicians, take the necessary corrective and preventative actions to eliminate these problems. - Utilize available technical support from manufacturers or Con-Test technicians to troubleshoot field-related issues when necessary. - Provide guidance to customers on the operation and maintenance of their equipment, addressing concerns, and maintaining excellent customer service. Troubleshoot and repair customer equipment, offering operational guidance and maintenance advice to customers as needed. - Interact professionally with customers, addressing inquiries and concerns, and ensuring timely completion of tasks. - Assist the Regional Service Manager in completing and delivering the performance reviews of direct reports, and identifying training needs for technicians. - Perform the appropriate tests and diagnostic procedures in the field to support the team and meet customer needs. Ensure that the team’s testing equipment, tools and vehicles are properly maintained. - Perform additional duties and assist head office as required, including maintaining customer report files, ensuring proper operation and maintenance of testing equipment, and timely repairs. - Attend all approved training courses required by Con-Test. **Qualifications** - Knowledge of basic HVAC systems, electrical wiring and motor repair. - Technical training or experience in HVAC, electrical or mechanical equipment is preferred. - Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently to solve problems. - Ability to handle physical demands, including carrying, lifting and putting into place (sometimes overhead) fragile filters up to 80 lbs and size ranging from 24x24x12 inches to 48x72x12 inches. - Ability to work overhead (above shoulder height), lifting and maneuvering equipment up to 250 lbs (very heavy equipment to be moved only with assistance of other workers and/or specialized moving/lifting equipment). - Valid driver's license and willingness to travel for extended hours for service calls, including rural or remote locations. - General mechanical aptitude and ability to understand and effectively use specialized testing instruments and equipment. - Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision. - Comforatble working in various environments including confined spaces, secure facilities that require security clearances, highly sterilized environments requiring gowning and masking, and various manufacturing and research facilities. - NSF49 Accreditation is a definite asset. - College level mathematics is a definite asset. **About Us** Con-Test is Canada’s oldest and largest testing and service company for biological safety cabinets, clean benches, fume hoods, clean rooms and many other controlled environments and various types medical and scientific containment equipment.
