**Seniors Resource Coordinator Job Description - April 2021**
**Position Summary**:
River East-Seniors Resource Finder (RESRF) is a community based, non-profit organization providing support and services to older adults living in the River East Community.
The Seniors Resource Coordinator is responsible for the maintenance of current resources for older adults; the distribution of community information; resource, program and community development; and for the administration of existing programs to support seniors in the community (Rides for Seniors, two congregate meal programs, Daily Hello, Emergency Response Information Kit - ERIK).
The Seniors Resource Coordinator is responsible to and receives direction and supervision from the Advisory Committee of the River East-Seniors Resource Finder.
**Position Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Administrative Duties**
- Manage the RESRF office (correspondence, referrals, filing, etc.)
- Compile statistics (monthly/yearly) for the council and meal programs.
- Maintain a current record-keeping system on clients, volunteers & service providers
- Liaise with community agencies, services, and the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA)
- Prepare written reports as required
- Write funding proposals as required
- Assist with budget preparation
- Monitor Budget
- Attend RESRF Advisory Committee meetings as required
- Attend GNALC staff meetings
- In consultation with RESRF Chair, prepare and distribute agendas and minutes for all RESRF Advisory Committee meetings
- Maintain client confidentiality
**Community Development**
- Establish and maintain contact and a good working relationship with organizations in the community
- Develop relationships and understanding of the needs of seniors in the River East Community
- Attend pertinent events in the community and represent RESRF
**Resource Centre and Information Distribution**
- Maintain an up to date list of resources, programs and services available in the community for individuals 55+, their family members and caregivers
- Prepare submission for Good Neighbours bi-monthly newsletter about the RESRF programs/services
**Congregate Meal Program Management and Administration**
- Oversee the operation of 2 congregate meal programs, including supervision, training and evaluation of staff and volunteers; monitoring of finances and budgets, menu approval and distribution, and financial reporting
- Prepare and monitor meal program budgets and statistics
- Ensure that all health and safety codes are followed
- Identify and lead volunteer recruitment, training, and recognition strategies
- Plan and oversee special programs/events at the meal program (in partnership with meal coordinator). Ex): Christmas dinner, lunch & learn

**Volunteer Driving Program Management and Administration**
- Oversee the operation of the Rides for Seniors Program including supervision, training and evaluation of volunteers
- Identify and lead volunteer recruitment, training and volunteer appreciation events
**Other Programs**
- E.R.I.K. (Emergency Response Information Kit). Prepare, distribute, and present ERIK for individuals 55+, seniors apartment blocks, and service providers. Assist individuals with filling in forms as necessary
- Daily Hello: Oversee the daily hello - phone call reassurance program. Recruit, supervise and evaluate volunteers
**Evaluate Programming**
- Assist the RESRF Advisory Committee in reviewing program effectiveness
- Monitor programs and services provided and attain client feedback
- Make recommendations on policies, practices and procedures
- Identify specific concerns or issues related to the program and communicate these to the RESRF Advisory Committee.
**Other**
- Attend staff training and development when appropriate
- Such other duties as may be determined by the RESRF in keeping with its objectives
**Qualifications**
- Post secondary education in a related field
- Strong interpersonal skills, with particular emphasis on developing and maintaining a good rapport with seniors
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Computer experience in Microsoft Office
- Experience in community development
- Ability to supervise staff
- Ability to address conflict situations
- Ability to recruit, organize and support volunteers.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of issues that affect seniors and _community de_velopment an asset
- Valid Manitoba Driver’s License and access to vehicle
- Subject to a Criminal Record and Vulnerable Persons check
**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 28 per week
**Salary**: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
