**Your opportunity**:
Working under the direction of the Assistant Director, Student Services, the incumbent works with a team of dedicated student services professionals, specifically supporting the success of arts co-op students. This includes meeting with arts co-op students, delivering programming and facilitating co-op courses, both in person and online, with specific knowledge and expertise related to the arts programs, co-op roles and related industries.

The incumbent will be Involved in projects related to launch of new arts programs. This role is responsible for conducting site visits with arts co-op students on work term, while bringing industry trends back into the classroom. This role will liaise with the academic art departments.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Advising students on program and/or course matters by providing options and consequences incorporating personal circumstances impacting academic success and an understanding of an individual's background
- Advising students on how to conduct job searches, cover letter and resume development
- Keeping well-informed on labour market, occupational and educational trends
- Building and strengthening relationships with stakeholders and partners of strategic importance
- Developing and implementing plans to enhance student engagement activities
- Exchanging information at formal department and/or program committee meetings
- Facilitating educational workshops and seminars and conduct site visits

**Essential Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience. Certification in career development, career counselling, adult learning and development, or a graduate degree in a relevant area will be considered a strong asset. Post-secondary education in arts preferred.
- Minimum five years of recent and related experience in direct support of students, new graduates or individuals in the areas of career or career transition.
- Demonstrated expertise/knowledge in arts programs, roles, and industries and/or supporting arts students.
- Excellent organizational skills with experience in project management working with multiple events.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to excel in a highly service-oriented environment.
- Experience with online facilitation or educational technologies.
- Strong presentation and public speaking skills.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Broad knowledge of trends in employer hiring practices, occupations, current labour market conditions and a strong understanding of student and career development theories.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles including facilitation, use of digital/social media, online learning concepts, and learning outcomes.
- Self-motivated learner.
- Demonstrated integrity, initiative, flexibility and creative problem solving.
- Ability to manage conflicting demands and work well under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail.

**Assets (Nonessential)**:

- Experience in student professional development, knowledge of workplace standards, recruitment and hiring practices, and performance management techniques gained through a role in a cooperative education or internship program.
- Exposure to customized relationship databases such as Simplicity or Orbis.
- Experience of user experience design is an asset.
