The Printing Press Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the printing press while maintaining quality meeting the customer specifications. The individual ensures conformance to all Health and Safety Policies, Rules and Regulations and general housekeeping standards. Meets or exceeds production, quality, and efficiency requirements at all times.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves)
- Verify customer specifications for each product using computer system.
- Follow and complete all work instructions for each job.
- Check quality continually ensuring standards are met or exceeded. Perform quality checks prior to sending product to the Die Cutting department.
- Conduct make readies.
- Troubleshoot and maintain printing equipment as required.
- Responsible for knowing equipment lockout procedures.
- Record production data as required (paperwork and on computer system).
- Perform general housekeeping and other related duties as required.
- Ensure safe and efficient set up and operation of the printing equipment.
- Ensure the products are always feeding in the sheet-fed printing press.
- Make and change Printing plates as needed for the press runs.
- Perform duties like wash up ink unit, add ink to ink fountain and maintain ink level during production run.
- Responsible for mixing water solution and maintain water tank levels during production runs.
- Change a coating blanket and knows the coating types we use for different jobs.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Experience operating large-format sheet fed lithographic printing presses.
- Manufacturing Experience.
- Printing Press Feeder experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Company issued Fork Truck Operator’s license.
