**Position Overview**:
We are looking for a part-time Computer Vision Lead to join our dynamic team, with the potential to transition into a full-time role. This role is ideal for someone eager to contribute to a growing startup and be a key player in developing technology that significantly impacts animal health.
**Responsibilities**:
- Lead the development, training, and deployment of advanced computer vision models.
- Monitor model performance and optimize based on real-world data.
- Communicate complex technical concepts to a diverse audience, ensuring understanding and alignment.
- Maintain high standards of code quality and documentation, ensuring reproducibility and transparency.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in AI and computer vision to continuously enhance our product offerings.
- Assist in prioritizing tasks and managing deadlines to meet project milestones effectively.
**Requirements**:
- Strong foundation in computer vision and AI, with hands-on experience in deploying models to production.
- Proven track record of conducting data analysis in health or life sciences, specifically related to animal or human health.
- Proficient in Python and R, with the ability to write robust, efficient code.
- Expertise in model performance assessment, including cross-validation, performance metrics, and advanced resampling methods.
- Experience in querying and analyzing diverse data sources and creating insightful visualizations, dashboards, or automated reports (e.g., ggplot2, R Markdown, Plotly, Shiny).
- Familiarity with ML Ops practices, particularly using AWS SageMaker and/or Google Vertex.
- Experience in Agile development methodologies and best practices.
- Minimum of 3 years of industry experience, ideally within a high-growth company.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
**Educational Background**:
- Graduate degree (MSc or PhD) in a relevant quantitative field such as computer vision, AI, mathematics, statistics, bioinformatics, computational biology/chemistry, biostatistics, or epidemiology, or equivalent experience
**Additional Requirements**:
