Position Overview
We are looking for a knowledgeable and dependable Quality Control Technician to work in Edmonton, AB. This position is primarily responsible for testing concrete at our concrete plants in West and East Edmonton as well as on project sites to ensure concrete mixtures have been prepared to client, engineering, and company standards.

**Responsibilities**:

- Complete concrete quality tests such as temperature, air, and slump.
- Monitor concrete pours, coordinating with customers to ensure products meet specifications.
- Evaluate material properties for use in concrete production.
- Interact with project and site managers regarding concrete specifications.
- Optimize concrete mixtures by adding admixtures and other products as required.
- Provide technical knowledge, service, and support to customers.
- Liaise with plant staff and suppliers regarding product quality.
- Champion the safety culture at RMC by attending safety meetings, wearing PPE while on site, adhering to all safe operating procedures and polices, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Reliable transportation to and from work, including a valid class 5 drivers license and clean drivers abstract.
- Prior experience working in the concrete or construction industry is an asset.
- Experience with materials testing of concrete, asphalt, soil, etc. is an asset.
- Preferably, civil engineering technology diploma or related education.
- Familiarity with CSA standard concrete practices

Hours of Work
- Hours of work may vary based on the needs of the business, but generally include 8+ hour shifts scheduled Monday - Saturday.
- Overtime may be required to support operations from time to time, especially during the busy construction season.

Physical Demands
This is moderately strenuous work. The technician must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs in weight and will be frequently required to crouch, stand, or bend over.
**Applicants must complete pre-employment drug, alcohol, and fit for work testing as a condition of employment.**
