**Overview**
- Oversee the provisions and provide constant monitoring and record keeping for the various stages of production of precast concrete pipe & products, as it relates to quality (i.e. compliance with CSA A23.4, CPCI/PCI Standards, job specifications, plant standards, and procedures). In addition to performing duties of a QC technician, the lead hand shall coordinate the duties of the QC technicians in the plant while also assisting in the development and improvement of quality procedures and new systems as necessary.**Report To**:Operations Manager/Structural Engineer**Responsibilities**:
- Follow company safety and quality requirements.
Ensure that all materials and workmanship are in accordance with required specifications and drawings as applicable.
Keep on file a complete set of drawings and review job specific data/specifications with the QA/QC Manager and inform plant personnel.
Prepare the necessary inspection / test forms for each specific job being monitored and record all data appropriately.
Perform testing of plastic and cured concrete (i.e. air, slump, cylinder breaks etc.) and record all necessary information as per specifications.
Evaluate mix design performance and consult QA/QC Manager for adjustments.
Monitor and record all pertinent plant procedures. This includes keeping the required records and distributing report forms as outlined in the internal Quality program.
Perform a pre-pour inspection and follow-up post pour review of all products.
Survey of larger casted elements for correct dimensions and ensure fit of custom boxes / Manholes.
Report any and all non-conformance issues to the QA/QC Manager and aid in writing necessary Non-Conformance Reports.
Manage the cull report for all production.
Coordinate all QC technologists/technicians and ensure training as applicable.
Communicate with, and respond to, governing bodies (CSA, CPCQA, etc.) during audits.
**Education & Experience**:
- Civil Engineering/Construction Technology preferred; relevant work experience will also be considered
Excellent computer and math skills
Excellent drawing / blueprint reading skills
Microsoft Office proficiency
CCIL or ACI certification preferred
