Join the Laboratories and Diagnostics Branch at the Ministry of Health to lead the development of a provincial laboratory medicine program that is comprehensive, accessible, efficient, insightful, intuitive, and responsive. This role will lead a team and multiple stakeholders to stand up a new, multi year provincial program that will revitalize and reform the laboratory system across Ontario. In addition, be part of a team that is leading the transition of the COVID-19 testing program into a steady state model within the health system. We are looking for someone that is enthusiastic about system transformation, building relationships and can coordinate core operational and performance structures to reform Ontario's laboratory system. **About us** **The Ministry**: The Ministry of Health's mandate is to: - Establish the strategic direction and provincial priorities for the health care system; - Develop legislation, regulations, standards, policies, and directives to support strategic directions; - Monitor and report on the performance of the health care system and the health of Ontarians; - Plan for and establish funding models and funding levels for the health care system; and - Manage key provincial programs, including the Ontario Health Insurance Program, Assistive Devices Program, Drug Programs, Emergency Health Services, Independent Health Facilities, and Laboratory Services. Refer to the "How to apply" section if you require a disability-related accommodation. **What can I expect to do in this role?**: In this role, you will: - Lead consultation process and provide strategic oversight on multiple branch funded programs to ensure best practices for long term impact on health delivery and alignment with ministry objectives - Lead and coordinate accountability oversight and mechanisms to ensure policy, procedures and directives are followed - Provide high level analytical and strategic support to resolve risks /impediments in order to ensure effective delivery of programs - Lead/manage the review of divisional portfolios to ensure projects align with ministry mandate - Develop and monitor key performance measures for Provincial Agencies, Transfer Payment Recipients, programs and projects based on strategic planning sessions - Lead and coordinate the ministry's review, decision-making and approval processes for program funding - Lead and provide direction to the Unit, including assigning work; reviewing work quality; contributing to hiring, training, and performance management - Develop, communicate and manage the reporting mechanisms necessary to ensure that senior executives/managers are kept apprised of program funding, programs and initiatives - Consult with and work in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders in joint discussions related to the planning of health care services within the assigned area - Provide representation on inter and intra ministry and government meetings, and cross functional teams and working groups - Consult with and work in collaboration with key external stakeholder in supporting specific project (e.g. clinical and administrative experts). **How do I qualify?**: **Leadership & Stakeholder Management Skills**: - You have demonstrated relationship management skills to develop and foster stakeholder relationships that are complex in nature - You have demonstrated ability to use persuasion and facilitation skills to resolve issues and gain support for
