**Position Summary**
As the **Volunteer Performance Coordinator**, you will be the driving force behind curating and scheduling an exciting lineup of performers from various backgrounds. Your efforts will help create a dynamic atmosphere that captivates audiences, promotes cultural unity, and highlights the richness of global traditions.
**Key Responsibilities**
- **Performance Curation**: Identify, invite, and confirm high-energy performance groups (local and international) representing a wide range of cultures.
- **Logistical Coordination**: Manage performance schedules, liaise with group leaders regarding technical requirements, and coordinate on-site setup.
- **Artist Relations**: Serve as the primary contact for all performer needs—answering queries, distributing event information, and ensuring a positive experience.
- **Collaboration**: Work with the event production team to integrate performances smoothly into the overall festival schedule.
- **Compliance & Safety**: Maintain communication regarding health and safety guidelines, and ensure that all performances meet the event’s standards.
- **Promotion Support**: Collaborate with the marketing team to share performer updates, engage audiences on social media, and build pre-event excitement.
**Qualifications & Skills**
- **Event/Performance Management Experience**: Previous experience coordinating or managing cultural/performing arts events is highly desirable.
- **Strong Communication**: Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills to effectively coordinate with performers and production staff.
- **Organizational Skills**: Ability to handle multiple tasks, create schedules, and manage performer logistics in a fast-paced environment.
- **Cultural Awareness**: Appreciation for diverse cultures and performing arts; multilingual skills are a bonus.
- **Team Player**: Willingness to collaborate with various departments and volunteers to achieve event goals.
- **Flexible & Proactive**: Comfortable adapting to last-minute changes, problem-solving on the fly, and stepping in where needed.

**Time Commitment**
- **Pre-Event**: Outreach to performers, scheduling, and coordinating logístical details (remote and/or in-person).
- **During Event**: On-site coordination, performer check-ins, and collaboration with production staff to ensure smooth stage transitions.
- **Flexible Scheduling**: We will work with you to accommodate your availability leading up to and during the festival.
