**Avenue Road Music and Performance Academy**, a Registered Charity, is a vibrant, community-oriented performing arts school offering music, drama, and interdisciplinary training to students of all ages. We currently seek a **Part-Time Manager of Operations and Administration** to support the daily operations of the Academy, and oversee the safety, security and maintenance of its historic building.
**Position Overview**:
The Manager of Operations and Administration plays a key role in the overall coordination and effective delivery of academy services. The Manager is often the first point of contact for students, parents and visitors, and is conscious of presenting the Academy as a professional and and trustworthy organization. The Manager is proactive in looking after the security, safety and maintenance of the beautiful heritage building in which the Academy is housed. The position is ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a creative environment and enjoys working with artists, students, and families.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Manage scheduling for classes, lessons, performances, and events
- Maintain student records, registration forms, and the Academy's manual of policies and processes in an organized system offering efficient retrieval of files and documents.
- Coordinate studio rentals, instructor availability, and calendar updates
- Support marketing efforts, such as social media posts, newsletters, and website updates; initiate reports to track the success of marketing programs
- Proactively manage the physical operations of the building and associated outside contractors, including telephone and Internet systems, gardeners, heating/cooling systems, security systems, insurance services, among others.
- Assist in planning and executing academy events, showcases, and concerts
- Provide administrative support to the Head of School and other Management Team members
**Qualifications**:
- Experience in administrative and office management (arts or education setting a plus)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and a passion for detail
- Proficiency with Google Workspace, Excel, Powerpoint, and online digital tools; experience with MyMusicStaff software a big plus
- Ability to multitask and adapt in a dynamic, creative environment
- Enthusiasm for the performing arts and working in a small team
- Ability to work independently with professionalism and initiative
- Live within 10 km of the Academy or have a car to drive to work
- Experience in the Arts or Education sector
- Canadian citizenship or Permanent Residency
- Flexibility to sometimes trade-off day-time hours with an evening or weekend shift
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree; advanced degree an asset
