Performance Program Coordinator

This position works under the general direction of the Manager, Performance Programs. If you are a creative innovator and producer and a motivated self-starter who values different cultural forms of performance art including BIPOC and LGBTQ2S+ communities. As a producer who recognizes the importance of representation, the place is equally essential in participatory programs to engage with broad audiences.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Research and develop approved programs on topical issues relevant to ROM performance programming.
- Produce performance programs liaising with Museum staff in various departments to facilitate program input & delivery in partnership with external arts partners.
- Facilitate promotion for the programs through ROM communication channels. Build opportunities to enhance attendance and revenue generated through innovative programs.
- Track the budgets for assigned programs, negotiate contracts for services (performers, speakers, supplies, etc.), negotiates partnerships with external organizations. Participates in budget and attendance forecasting year-over-year.

**Qualifications**
- A Degree in arts performance and/or arts management or another related field is an asset
- An event/theatrical show planning diploma is also considered an asset.
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in program development, show production and administration in arts and culture
- Excellent interpersonal skills operating in cross disciplinary teams, organizational skills, problem solving skills, experience in promoting programs and effective oral and written communication skills and strong conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent knowledge of diversity, equity and inclusion and the requirements of performance programming presented by diverse artists for diverse audiences.
- Familiarity with participatory practice, or other theories addressing performance innovation in cultural institutions.
- Demonstrated ability in development and control of budgets and financial reporting.
- **Availability and willingness to work evenings and weekends regularly are required.**

**SALARY**: $34.95 - $39.94 per hour

**PROBATIONARY PERIOD**:6 Months or 420 hours, whichever comes first (performance based only)
