**_Job Overview:_**
Reporting to the Director of Manufacturing and Fulfillment, the AR Coating Manager will have the responsibility of the day to day responsibilities of the Dip Coating and AR Coating areas, regarding process, management of quality gates, audits and breakage review to ensure operational excellence.
In addition to daily operations the AR Manager will be tasked with ownership of continuous improvement in the area, with a goal of improving overall efficiencies, reduce breakage and ensure we are always utilizing the most up to date process and industry practices.
The AR Coating Manager will bring to this role a strong belief in quality control, lean manufacturing practices and a passion for data and process automation to deliver the highest quality products to the FYidoctors health groups clinics and patients. Excellent customer service, coaching, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate in a multi-cultural and diverse environment is needed to be successful.
**_Key Responsibilities:_**
- Manage and lead a team of 35 - 45 employees including Team Leaders and Skills Leads
- Have a passion to manufacture and deliver the best products in the industry and a keen interest in automation, industry 4.0, AI and other continuous improvement activities
- Maintain employee work schedules, which includes scheduling of time off/holidays, shifts based on departmental needs, completing bi-monthly payroll
- Create and update standard operating procedures
- Create and adhere to equipment maintenance and consumable replacement schedules
- Implement processes and manage to KPI targets to ensure quality and service goals are achieved
- Assist in the development and improvement of new procedures within the department
- Rigorously and systematically work to reduce and eliminate product defects and improve first pass yields
- Create, identify, and update routine reports to measure the effectiveness of coating activities. Recommend measures to improve coating quality, improve yield, increasing efficiency of department, employees, and equipment performance.
- Work with purchasing to manage supplies and consumable to ensure a smooth and efficient operation
- Work with other departments including purchasing, accounting and the solutions center to ensure all requirements and service levels are met
- Ensure that a safe working environment exists at all times in the AR Coating department and in other areas of the lab and warehouse
- Assist in the identification and development of new roles and procedures as it relates to the overall efficiency of the operation
- Work alongside other managers in the lab to enhance operational work flow and deliver on KPIs
- Work with HR on hiring and onboarding new staff
- As a part of the Delta leadership team, participate and help create an engaged culture that is built on trust, accountability, results, mentorship and is patient focus

**_Qualifications (Education, Experience and Training):_**
- A diploma or degree in a related field
- 5+ years of process and management experience in a production/manufacturing facility
- Experience with LEAN, Continuous Improvement, and Theory of Constraint practices
- Health & Safety training would be an asset.
- Experience implementing a Quality Management System
- Optical experience or lens manufacturing experience would be an asset
