**Job Overview**
The Marketing and Communications Summer Student is responsible for providing administrative support to the team and will bring fresh ideas to the table when it comes to engaging our audiences through a variety of channels.

**Role Details**
- Be actively involved in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, marketing planning, media relations activities and community events
- Get creative when you craft and edit engaging content for various channels, and support the design and layout of various graphics, the quarterly company newsletters and various PowerPoint presentations
- Act as a liaison across all departments when necessary to ensure information is communicated accurately and through the appropriate channels
- Proactively pitch story ideas, public relations opportunities, and fresh content/concepts to further engage audiences via social media channels
- Support the management of our social media channels
- Meticulously maintain summary reports, media monitoring and monthly data input
- Be conscious of brand standards and guidelines and incorporate them into everything that you do
- Enjoy staying on top of current events and researching industry trends so that you can incorporate it into your work
- Consider health & safety as a primary concern to ensure the overall well-being of self and others
- Perform other administrative duties as we may need you to do

**Required Skills**:

- Be pursuing a Degree or Diploma in Communications, Marketing or related field
- Have a background in social media; corporate social media experience preferred
- Enjoy being creative and have had exposure to organized marketing
- Be familiar with graphic design software including the Adobe Creative Suite
- Work smart by managing multiple priorities with deadlines in a constantly changing environment
- Be quick to respond to requests for service from all of your clients
- Inherently demonstrate a high level of integrity and be trustworthy
- Be more than approachable with your superior interpersonal skills
- Innately demonstrate superior written and verbal communication skills
- Be aware of and mitigate enterprise risk factors and ensure compliance with applicable regulations, legislation and FirstOntario policies and procedures
