**Position Status**:Full-time (40 hours/work) Permanent Position

**Key Responsibilities**
- Manage external stakeholder workstreams related to Otipemisiwak Métis Government Communications projects and events.
- Plan, monitor, and oversee projects to deliver defined requirements and meet strategic objectives.
- Monitor the progress of deliverables while adhering to timelines and budgets.
- Collaborate with the Digital Communications Coordinator(s) with regularly reviewing and reporting on social and web analytics assessing the performance of campaigns and setting strategic goals.
- Create and maintain project schedules.
- Determine how results will be measured, and complete post-project evaluation.
- Ensure quality control throughout project life cycles, from planning to execution to evaluation.
- Maintain project documentation, including meeting minutes, action items, and risk management plans.
- Write, edit, and publish copy for multiple platforms including but not limited to websites, social media, radio, video, and various print products.
- Work with team members and other Otipemisiwak Métis Government departments to lead and achieve communications objectives on their projects where applicable.
- Support the Communications department with additional needs, including providing support during planning and execution of events.
- Create presentations, reports, newsletters, agendas, signage, and other communication and marketing collateral as required.
- Proactively develop networks with internal and external clients to build relationships.
- Present a positive and professional image of the organization when interacting with employees, clients/customers, visitors, and other external stakeholders.
- Other duties as required or assigned.

**Skills & Competencies**
- Knowledge of marketing and communications principles and practices.
- Ability to produce professional documents, reports, and presentations with exceptional attention to detail.
- Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
- Ability to assess options and implications, engage different perspectives, and create strategic solutions for communications challenges.
- Exceptional organization and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and effectively manage and prioritize requests and deadlines.
- Strong technical skills, knowledge of digital media, and experience with Content Management Systems (e.g. WordPress).
- Flexible and adaptable to work in a diverse and fast paced environment.
- Competency to work with and convey messages to different audiences.
- Ability to work in an open work environment with a very collaborative team.
- Political sensitivity and ability to deal with confidential information.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven track record of building collaborative partnerships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of Métis history, culture, and issues affecting Métis people. An in-depth understanding of the Otipemisiwak Métis Government and Métis culture is an asset.

**Qualifications**
- Post-secondary communications-related education.
- Minimum 3 years work experience in professional writing, journalism, communications, marketing, business, public relations, or similar role.
- Project management education, training, and/or experience is considered an asset.
- Experience with events planning and marketing
- Experience with photography, DSLR cameras, Canva, and Adobe editing software.
- Knowledge of online marketing channels, including post automation software (e.g. Hootsuite, Meltwater) is considered an asset.

**Other Requirements**
- Position is based in Edmonton; in-office presence is required.
- Ability to work a regular schedule of Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM. Occasional evenings and weekends is required, with notice.
- Reliable transportation and a valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
- Travel within Alberta is required. Additional, less frequent, out-of-province travel may also occur, with notice.
