The Family Resource Network Program Facilitator develops, implements, evaluates, and facilitates a diverse range of universal preventative programs for children, youth, parents (including parents to be), and caregivers designed to enhance child development, parenting practices and overall family well-being.

As the initial point of contact for many participants, this role serves as a bridge from universal programs to more intensive services. By fostering trusting relationships, the facilitator balances program delivery with light family support, information sharing, and referrals.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Develop program plans, play experiences and environments for children, youth, parents and caregivers that are guided by evidence-based practices and their knowledge of child and youth development
- Build trusting relationships with families to support their well-being while connecting them with other formal and informal support networks in their community
- Plan and facilitate skill-building and knowledge transfer opportunities for parents and caregivers through workshops, one-on-one coaching, and community presentations to promote child development and family wellbeing
- Work collaboratively with colleagues from different teams both internal to the organization and external community partners
- Facilitate evaluative measures and activities to support quality assurance, contractual funding requirements and responsiveness to community need
- Responsible for maintaining accurate documentation, balance daily tasks with program requirements and adhere to, ethics and supervision

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- University degree in Social Science, i.e. Education, Child and Youth Care, Early Childhood Development, Social Work, Human Ecology, etc.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the areas of child and youth development, parenting support, adult education, and community development
- Extensive knowledge about child development and parenting strategies is necessary
- Experience facilitating research based, evidence informed workshops, presentations and discussions
- Familiarity with standards and guidelines for the Family Resource Network and Home Visitation programs is an asset
- Familiarity with data entry system (i.e. NewOrg) considered an asset
- Intermediate (Standard) First Aid Level C CPR certification is an asset
- Broad based knowledge of local community resources is an asset
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision and equally confident in working within a team
- Well versed in brain science, normative child development, adverse early childhood experiences (ACES), ecological and indigenous perspectives, domains of wellbeing and resilience building practice

**Conditions of Employment**:

- Submission of a Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check and Child Intervention Record Check
- Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s license and submission of a 5-year Driver’s Abstract with less than 7 demerits
- Ability to perform physical labour as part of the job duties including lifting 20 lbs.
- Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule, including daytime, evenings and weekends
