Chimo Youth Retreat Centre The Chimo Family Wellness program is delivered in partnership between Chimo Youth Retreat and the Edmonton Region Child and Family Services. Using the Collaborative Service Delivery (CSD) model, the program provides a continuum of services to improve the outcomes for children, youth and families in our region. Family Wellness Team Lead The role of the Family Wellness (FW) Team Lead is important to the wellbeing and development of program participants and program staff: What you do matters for a lifetime. Broadly, the role of the FW Team Lead is both a frontline Coordinator and peer leader in the Family Wellness Program under the Collaborative Service Delivery (CSD) model. The FW Team Lead works in partnership with Children and Family Service (CFS) personnel to support families in building safety for children, strengthening support networks, and promoting lasting stability and well-being. Education, Credentials and Requirements This position requires a diploma (minimum 2 years) or degree in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, or a related humanities field of study. A degree is considered an asset to this position. A clear and current, within 6 months, Criminal Records Check A clear and current Children Services Intervention Record Check A valid Class 5 Driver’s License, a clean Drivers’ Abstract, and 3 Full -years insurance history. (This is provided through a 3 year claims experience letter from your auto insurance. - MUST be 3 full years of insurance history) Please note: If your degree came from an international institute you will be asked for an ISQA Assessment (International Qualifications Assessment Service - International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) | Alberta.ca). We will not move forward in the process without this. Key Duties and Responsibilities Family Support & Case Management Support children, youth, and families to build safety, wellbeing, and stability in their homes and communities. Assess family needs, strengths, and cultural identity to guide case planning interventionsp> Provide practical and emotional support to parents and collaborate with schools, medical providers, and community partners. Maintain regular contact with families and plan for smooth transitions or discharge from services. Documentation & Compliance Complete accurate, timely documentation that reflects family experiences and meets agency standards. Report all critical incidents promptly and in accordance with contractual and policy requirements. Always maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries. Adhere to legislation, agency policies, and program procedures, seeking clarification when needed. Advocacy & Cultural Engagement Advocate for children, youth, and families to ensure safety, rights, and inclusion in decision-making. Participate in cultural and community events; support families to attend. Team & Leadership Responsibilities Foster collaborative, respectful relationships and contribute to program development and continuous improvement. Mentor and coach frontline staff; assist with onboarding new team members or students. Provide coverage and support during staff absences or crises; participate in leadership on-call rotation. Attend meetings, training, and share resources to strengthen team cohesion and professionalism. Advocacy & Cultural Engagement Advocate for children, youth, and families to ensure safety, rights, and inclusion in decision-making. Promote cultural awareness and support participation in community and cultural events. Build trust and foster belonging through respectful, inclusive practices. Promote agency mission, vision, and values. Uphold accreditation standards and professional conduct. Act as an ambassador for the agency in all external interactions. The successful candidate will be skilled at: Family Engagement & Advocacy – Build trust, respect cultural identity, and ensure family voices are included in planning. Case Management & Problem-Solving – Assess needs, develop plans, and adapt interventions to changing circumstances. Communication & Collaboration – Communicate clearly and work effectively with families, team members, and community partners. Leadership & Mentorship – Provide guidance and support to staff; assist with onboarding and team development. Professionalism & Ethics – Maintain confidentiality, boundaries, and compliance with policies and legislation.
