**Winnipeg Jets Hockey Club (WJHC) is seeking a detail-oriented and data-driven individual to join the Research & Analysis team.**

This student term position will commence in **September 2025**and be completed in** December 2025.**

**What to be excited for in this role**:

- Collect data from various sources including SQL databases and APIs to create novel feature sets.
- Build statistical models while adhering to rigorous development standards.
- Create front-end reporting and/or visualizations to display model results.
- Write summaries to communicate insights to both technical and non-technical staff.
- Collaborate with R&A department on new ideas and areas of research.
- Automate some current manual reporting across the organization as needed.
- Other ad hoc data analysis or data cleaning/entry projects as assigned.

**What we need from you**:

- Experience working in Python/R or another statistical programming language.
- Knowledge and practice of statistical methods (GLMs, nonlinear regression, decision trees etc.).
- Familiarity with SQL and experience working with RDBMS (such as MySQL or PostgreSQL).
- Experience handling several data formats including CSV, JSON, and XML.
- Working knowledge utilizing and/or developing REST APIs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience collaborating within a team setting.
- Ability to work independently and manage several projects at the same time.
- Basic understanding for the game of hockey and a passion for data analytics.
- Experience in front-end web development or data-visualization software (such as PowerBI or Tableau) is considered an asset.
- You are pursuing a post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Business Intelligence, Management Information Systems, Data Science, and/or another related field.
