**True North Sports + Entertainment is looking for **creative and detailed oriented individual **to join our team.**

The **Manager, Corporate Communications** will be responsible for supporting True North’s overall corporate communications and content initiatives with purposeful communications that drive True North’s strategic goals, and organizational mission and vision.

**What to be excited for in this role**:
**Communications & Media Relations**
- Provide communications, media, and content support with a specific focus on team promotional and community initiatives and True North Youth Foundation and hockey for all centre content
- Draft communication tools for media, stakeholders, public and a variety of other target audiences - including media releases, backgrounders, FAQs, PA and radio reads, scripts, ad copy and promotional writeups, digital copy, stakeholder communications, sales tools and more
- Collaborate with other True North teams to coordinate and manage the schedule of corporate news releases, campaign timelines and other key dates and events across the entire organization
- Contribute to communications plans for specific events and campaigns
- Assist with planning and executing media events, including large-scale news conferences
- Assist with pitching, coordinating and tracking media interviews and creating/summarizing key messaging for True North spokespeople and the media
- Facilitate/supervise media events and in-person interviews as needed (including outside of regular work hours)
- Provide support for internal and employee communications projects
- Lead regular and/or as-needed internal communications through online newsletter and/or other platforms, including the weekly “Bulletin”
- Contribute to the planning, content and design of True North’s internal publication, Our True North
- Contribute to the planning and content of True North’s annual Report to the Community (RTC) and related social promotion
- Facilitate/coordinate digital and hard copy distribution of Our True North and the RTC
- Lead coordination of the many departmental contributions to create succinct and accurate content for gameday communications (Know Before You Go)
- Oversee the curation and maintenance of media contact lists to ensure they remain accurate and up to date
- Participate in the regular updating of True North’s Style Guide
- Provide research reports and environmental scans on issues and topics related to True North, including performing a daily media scan
- Assist with identifying, monitoring, and managing issues that can have a negative or positive impact on True North.
- Become a superuser of preferred digital tools and platforms including but not limited to, Constant Contact, ISSUU, media monitoring tool(s), as well as providing support to other users

**Content**
- Develop content plans that prioritize True North’s organizational goals
- Draft written content for a variety of brands within True North, showcased on a number of platforms
- Proofread a variety of materials from across all True North teams
- Manage True North’s corporate Twitter account and provide social media content support, including for True North’s LinkedIn
- Act as a field producer on internal and external video content projects as required
- Other Responsibilities
- Generally support all True North departments with internal and external communication needs
- Attend, as requested, periodic organizational management meetings
- Participation in external events, as required, to fulfill responsibilities and/or assist in the promotion of True North
- Work with and support in-house and/or third-party service providers
- Provide additional administrative support when required
- Any other duties or tasks as assigned, from time to time

**What we need from you**:

- A minimum of three to five years of progressive communications or related experience, demonstrated by work and writing samples
- Bachelor’s degree and/or post-graduate certificate in public relations, corporate communications or communications studies, or like program combined with relevant working experience
- Superior writing skills and ability to effectively craft messaging and copy for diverse audiences and demographics, in editorial, corporate, creative, promotional and informational genres and following True North Style
- Ability to think critically to identify and meet communication goals
- An eye for detail, ability to wordsmith, and exceptional proofreading skills
- Superior attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- A passionate,creative and compelling storyteller with natural curiosity
- Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities in a dynamic environment and maintain and convey a professional image at all times
- Previous experience telling stories with video, working with video production teams is considered an asset
- Previous event/media event planning experience is considered an asset
- Knowledge of hockey/hockey termin
