**Primary Purpose**:
The Manager of Student Conduct and Case Management is responsible for overseeing non-academic student misconduct processes and the coordination of complex student cases, including those involving mental health, safety concerns, and behavioral issues. This role ensures that student conduct is managed fairly and consistently while promoting a safe and respectful campus environment. The manager provides leadership in the development of conduct policies, case management protocols, and educational initiatives related to student rights and responsibilities.

**Specific Responsibilities**:
The Manager, Student Conduct and Case Management will, at various times, be responsible for the following as well as other related duties as assigned to support UCW's business objectives, mission, and purpose:
Conduct Management:

- Oversee the management and adjudication of non-academic misconduct cases, ensuring compliance with university policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement case management protocols, including intake, investigation, resolution, and follow-up for student conduct cases.
- Maintain comprehensive case files and produce reports on misconduct trends and outcomes.

Case Coordination:

- Manage a caseload of complex student issues, including cases involving mental health, safety risks, and academic concerns.
- Collaborate with campus partners, such as the Office of Student Life, Campus Security, and the Behavioral Intervention Team, to coordinate support for students in crisis.
- Lead the development of safety plans for students at risk and ensure appropriate follow-up and monitoring.

Policy Development and Compliance:

- Review and update student conduct policies and procedures to reflect best practices and legislative requirements.
- Provide training and consultation to faculty, staff, and students on conduct policies, conflict resolution, and risk assessment.
- Serve as a campus resource on issues related to student rights, responsibilities, and procedural fairness.

Leadership and Supervision:

- Supervise the Student Conduct and Case Management team, including senior advisors and case managers.
- Provide professional development and training to team members, ensuring they are equipped to handle complex and sensitive cases.
- Lead collaborative assessment, referral, and education efforts to help with coordinating the university’s response to high-risk student situations.

Reporting and Analysis:

- Prepare annual reports on conduct cases, including statistical analysis and recommendations for policy and procedural improvements.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of conduct interventions and case management strategies.
- Lead the development of educational materials and workshops on student conduct and harm reduction.

**Position Requirements**:
**Education**:
Master’s degree in related fields (e.g., social work, community development, conflict management, student affairs, adult education, etc.). An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience may be considered.

**Experience**:

- Minimum 7 years of experience, including 2-3 years of experience supervising a staff team.
- Leadership of staff and processes in a complex environment dealing with sensitive and/or conflictual issues for individuals and communities.
- Significant experience developing and implementing policy, process, communication, and/or systems that support operational and strategic improvements.
- Conflict resolution and the adjudication of conduct issues within policy guidelines.
- Practical experience managing and responding to crises, including sexualized/physical violence situations within university-aged populations.
- Proven ability to handle highly sensitive issues with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and neutrality.

Knowledge & Competencies:

- Knowledge requirements include knowledge of procedural fairness and natural justice.
- Awareness of human rights law.
- Understanding of student development theory and/or adult learning theory.
- Understanding of programs and services related to student mental health.
- A collaborative leadership style, with the ability to develop and motivate a team.
- Ability to work in an unpredictable setting with complex, sensitive, adversarial, and time-sensitive issues.
- Sound judgment and ability to assess risks and liability issues.
- Ability to develop and implement effective systems and processes for a high-volume conduct system.
- Demonstrated administrative and organizational skills.
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills working with a wide range of diverse constituents.
