**What You’ll Do**

We’re looking for a **Data Business Analyst** to join our Canadian Data team. In this role you’ll be the sole Data Business Analyst responsible for all areas of the business. As part of your role, you’ll:

- Gather and define detailed project requirements from across the Canadian business for data reporting products.
- Work closely with our Data Engineers and Data Visualization Analysts to ensure they have the documentation they need to build out products - all within an Agile framework.
- Partner with our global data specialists, including Data Modelers and Architects
- Iteratively deliver completed products out the business, ensuring they’re fit for purpose.

Our team exists to make Specsavers a data-driven business, backed by robust and reliable insights. We deliver products such as reports, dashboards, and tools that support teams across finance, retail operations, clinical optometry, and product.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full business requirements lifecycle: elicitation, analysis, documentation, and management.
- Run workshops, interviews, and prototyping sessions to capture and refine requirements.
- Analyse systems and data sources used across the business.
- Ensure requirements are complete, consistent, concise and verifiable.
- Partner with the Product Owner to refine the product backlog and gain stakeholder agreement.
- Manage scope changes and requirements during implementation.
- Work closely with Agile development teams to ensure requirements are well understood.
- Document requirements according to Data Team ways of working.
- Perform peer reviews of requirements and solutions for quality assurance.

**What We’re Looking For**
- 3-5 years’ experience as a Data Business Analyst, ideally documenting requirements for data reporting projects
- Strong background in Data Management, Architecture, Migration, Quality, and Governance
- An understanding of Data Architecture & Tools and Data modelling techniques (e.g., conceptual, logical, physical)
- Experience with data ingestion processes and the ability to understand database schemas, including the relationships between objects and key terminology
- Experience gathering requirements from diverse stakeholders (workshops, 1:1s, etc.) Knowledge of Use Cases, Process Maps, Data Flows and Diagrams
- Proven Agile delivery experience
- Excellent communicator - able to translate complex ideas for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaborative approach with strong relationship-building skills.
- Enthusiasm for learning, sharing knowledge, and helping others develop

Nice to have

Experience in data visualisation techniques and principles

**Compensation**: $90,000 - $110,000 base salary, plus quarterly bonus, profit sharing, and benefits. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience
