Alta Care Resources provides Collaborative Service Delivery; this service is focused on child-centered outcomes and family-centered services to promote collaborative practices between Children Services staff and contracted services providers like Alta Care Resources. It is a model that builds upon the strengths of all stakeholders involved with a family and is practiced within the spirit of partnership. The **Family Connections Specialist** is responsible for maintaining and increasing the level of safety, well-being, permanency, and connection to supports available to their clients for youth with a permanent guardianship order (PGO). The Family Connections Specialist is responsible for re-engaging family and parents after PGO status is granted to ensure connections for the youth. The Family Connections Specialist will provide de-escalation and stabilization to person(s) served that are in a state of crisis and ensure safety plans meet the unique needs of each child in the home or in care. The family connection specialist is responsible for ensuring that financial compensation for the foster families is processed in a timely manner. **Primary Accountabilities** - Case Management - Assessments - Meetings - Reports **Qualifications** - A diploma or degree in human services field diploma or fully certified within their field of practice and 2 years of work-related experience in a human services field - Excellent communication skills and organizational skills - Demonstrated skills in high-stress or conflict situations - A reliable vehicle and Driver’s License with proof of appropriate insurance, and a Drivers Abstract and Insurance Claim letter that reflects safe driving habits **Other Requirements**: A current, clear Police Information Check (vulnerable sector included) and Child Intervention Record Check, both dated within the last 6 months. A valid AB driver’s license (minimum class 5), proof of appropriate insurance, a Drivers Abstract and Insurance Claim letter that reflects safe driving habits. **Schedule**:Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day within any agency programs. Note that this is a schedule based on the availability of the families you are serving and has evening hours based on your assigned family’s needs. **Work Conditions** - Ability to engage in physical activities with persons served - Significant lifting, carrying, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling - Interacts with support staff and the public at large - Must be able to safely perform restraints - Ability to lift up to 50 lbs - Travel is required, staff provide their own reliable vehicle at all times - Irregular hours and available after hours - Self-directed team - Fast paced and dynamic environment **Compensation** - **Base Salary Rate $56,160 ($27.00/hour)** - **Wellness Days/Allowance** - **Vacation Days/Allowance** - **Group RRSP Program** - **Phone Allowance** - **Transportation Allowance** - **Employee and Family Assistance Program** - **Health Benefits with Health Spending Account** - **Quarterly Appreciation Bonus** - **Annual Winter Holidays Bonus** - Alta Care Resources is committed to the principle of employment equity.
