As the Manager of Workforce Development you can make a significant impact by leading our comprehensive employment programs across Alberta. Our programs are strategically located in Edmonton, Calgary, Red Deer, Whitecourt, Grande Prairie, and High Level, serving a diverse clientele. Our clients range from skilled workers eager to rapidly reintegrate into the workforce to individuals experiencing significant employment barriers who require tailored support. As the Manager, you will play a key role in not only maintaining our high standards of service but also driving the expansion of our programming across Western Canada over the next five years. This position offers the opportunity to enhance workforce development initiatives and contribute to the economic growth of the communities we serve.
**Let’s break down this role further. As the Manager of Workforce Development, you will have the following responsibilities**:
**Team Leadership and Management**
- Lead and manage a diverse team of 25+ individuals across providing direction, support, and mentorship to ensure their success. Travel is required within this role as we have offices in Calgary, Red Deer, Edmonton, Whitecourt, Grande Prairie, and High Level.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, promoting teamwork and effective communication.
- Effectively manage resources, including personnel, and budget to maximize efficiency and productivity.
- Support hiring processes, performance development, and organizational innovation to ensure the team has the necessary tools and skills to achieve their objectives.
- Facilitate conflict resolution and problem-solving within the team, addressing any issues that may arise.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to inspire and motivate team members towards common goals.
- Lead by example, embodying Ballad's values (Accountable, Collaborative, & Entrepreneurial) and fostering a culture of professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Proactively seek opportunities for professional development and growth, both for oneself and for team members, to enhance overall effectiveness and performance.
- This position will join Ballad’s leadership team where you will use your business acumen to develop innovative solutions for various company-wide challenges, while also championing and supporting leadership decisions across the company.
**Contract Actualization**
- Oversee the successful implementation and execution of all training programs throughout Ballad
- Ensure adherence to contract guidelines and project scope, while maintaining a high standard of quality and efficiency.
- Accountable for maximizing contract deliverables, ensuring adherence to month-end, quarterly, and year-end reports, and managing monthly invoicing to meet financial targets.
**Contract Management**
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with our external clients ensuring open communication and alignment with contract guidelines and expectations.
- Ensure external client satisfaction and retention by implementing formal feedback mechanisms and conducting regular check-ins.
- Collaborate with external clients to identify and address their specific needs and challenges, providing tailored solutions and support.
- Act as a liaison between Ballad and its external clients, advocating for the interests of both parties and fostering a mutually beneficial partnership.
**Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Commerce, Business Administration, Human Resources, Adult Education or related) required.
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in workforce development, post-secondary education or related field, with demonstrated success in leadership and management roles.
- Strong understanding of contract management and compliance, with experience in managing complex projects and multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively engage and collaborate with diverse audiences.
